Social Media Can Be Compliant in Large Companies

When I work with consulting clients and we talk about technology adaption in the workplace the biggest concern is privacy. A service created by the author of The Facebook Era- Clara Shih and founder of Hearsay Social a service that helps organizations remain compliant while leveraging social media within the organization.
The company helps large companies control how workers interact with customers on Facebook fan pages and other social media outlets. The service can provide a dashboard to monitor the activities of their workers on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn.
The software looks for compliance violations and keeps tabs on which employees and branches are best at bringing the corporate messaging to the Facebook community.
Farmers Insurance uses the service, having thousands of agents on Facebook posting things can bring up concerns for the legal department. Hearsay alerts management if agents ask for private items such as social security numbers ( a potential security violation).
Social media is unavoidable and large companies have been working frantically at getting on the bandwagon while remaining compliant. Technology is no longer the nice to have- more than technology company leaders want to ensure they have they answers.
